Doug attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1980. He received his Juris Doctor (JD) from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, MA, where he served as Managing Editor of the Western New England Law Review. He received the Benjamin Novak Award for excellence in writing in 1983.
After graduating from law school, Doug was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1984. He has practiced law in Passaic County for over 30 years, has tried numerous cases to conclusion before Passaic County juries. He has appeared regularly in Superior Court (Law, Chancery & Appellate Divisions), Municipal Court and Workers' Compensation Court. After many years with a plaintiff's personal injury firm in Paterson, New Jersey, in 2016 Doug moved his practice to Foster & Mazzie, LLC, in Totowa, New Jersey, where he can offer his clients a greater variety of legal services.
In addition to handling the many areas of the law mentioned on our "About Us" page, Doug serves as a Court Appointed arbitrator for personal injury cases and has served as a court appointed attorney in guardianship matters, as well as presently serving a court appointed legal guardian. Doug serves as a trustee for the Passaic County Bar Association. He is also a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and the Justice Robert L. Clifford Inn of Courts.
Doug lives in Wayne, New Jersey and is married to Mary Ann. Their son, Max, graduated from Wayne Valley High School and he is currently attending college.
